Virtual Learning Day - Snow Makeup day from November 18
Description
Virtual Learning Day
What?
A Virtual Learning Day is a day where students do not have to attend school but still have access to educational experiences. This is done in lieu of a make-up day later in the year.
When?
2/20/17
Only 1 virtual learning day will occur this year (makes up for snow day earlier in the year rather than adding a day to the end of the school year).
Where?
Students will not attend school but work from another safe location established by parents such as home, day care, a friend’s house, etc.
Why?
To continue student learning from home and prevent the large amount of snow days that sometimes pile on at the end of the school year when learning is less productive.
What if we don’t have internet access during the day?
Students are aware ahead of time of the virtual learning date. This will allow students time to download all materials or collect any paper copies that are needed.
What if my student needs help?
All teachers will be available through email from 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM.
Where will my student’s homework be?
Each individual teacher will be conveying this information to their students. Some have paper handouts, some are on Schoology, and others will have information linked on their websites. Younger students may have a menu, tic-tac-toe board, or bingo board of activities to select from.
