Greetings!

My name is Angie Prokop. This is my fifth year teaching at Lakeview, and my 11^th year teaching kindergarten. Previously I taught kindergarten at Holy Redeemer School in Marshall for six years. I graduated from SMSU with degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education in December 2008.

I grew up on a farm in Canby, MN with my parents and seven siblings. Family is very important to me and we share many fun times together, whether we are celebrating birthdays and other milestones, attending school events, playing games, camping or going to concerts. 

I am not an outdoors girl by nature, but I do enjoy being outside when the weather is right--I am not very compatible with heat and humidity. Fall is my favorite! Listening to music is a great outlet for me and I appreciate quite a variety of genres and artists. I love to read, journal, doodle and paint. I'm an organization enthusiast and all things in rainbow order make my heart happy! You might notice this a bit when you enter my classroom. I can't help it!   

In the teaching world, my heart belongs in kindergarten. I pride myself in creating a positive classroom environment where children feel welcome, comfortable and belonging to a community of learners. I do my best to meet my students where they are at and encourage them in their development and learning.

I am so grateful to be part of the Laker family at Lakeview! Each beginning of a new school year provides opportunities to meet new people and learn new things. I'm excited to embark on our journey through kindergarten together this year!
