WHY A LEVY REQUEST?
Technology has become a cornerstone of modern education, and maintaining and updating existing technology is crucial for providing students with a relevant and effective learning environment. Technology levies provide dedicated funding for crucial technology infrastructure and resources, including student and staff devices (like iPads and Chromebooks), classroom technology.
CTE is Hands-on and Requires Specialized Equipment: CTE programs are designed to be hands-on and prepare students for careers in specific fields, such as healthcare, automotive technology, culinary arts, and information technology. These programs often require specialized equipment, tools, and facilities to provide students with relevant training and practical experience.
Traditional Funding May Not Cover These Costs: Standard school funding mechanisms may not be sufficient to cover the costs associated with establishing and maintaining high-quality CTE facilities and equipment. CTE capital levies provide a dedicated funding stream to address these specific needs.
Keeping Up with Industry Standards: CTE programs aim to prepare students for the workforce, meaning they need access to equipment and technologies that are relevant and used in the real world. Capital levies allow schools to update equipment and facilities to keep pace with industry advancements and ensure students are learning with the tools they'll encounter in their careers.
