Message from Dr. Fenske

Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year
I hope that you are having a fun summer as a family. Now that July has passed and August is moving along quickly, it is time to prepare for the upcoming school year. We at Lakeview are looking forward to another exciting school year. The 2026-27 school year will begin on Wednesday, August 26th. Our staff is excited and has been busy preparing for what will be a great year for our students. The district will hold an open house for parents and students on Wednesday, August 19th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet the teaching staff and have your basic questions answered in areas such as transportation, schedules, student health, and to learn more about our technology and student information platform, called “Synergy”. I would also like to point out that many resources, such as student handbooks and other forms, can be found on our updated website at www.lakeview2167.com.
As you visit the school this fall, you will notice that our facilities are looking great and we are ready to go for the 2026-27 school year. We are truly blessed to have such a supportive community, as evidenced by the passage of our capital project/technology referendum in November 2025. The community has responded repeatedly in supporting referendums to provide top-notch facilities and other resources, which have allowed the district to offer preschool programming, excellent elementary curriculum & experiences, college-in-the-school programs, career-technical education electives, and technology used to personalize learning. The funds from the successful referendum become available for the 2026-27 school year. With this year's funds, we renovated our Ag/Wood shop areas and created a 21st-century classroom experience for our students, who now have access to both areas from the classroom, which includes updated welding and shop equipment. We are also very fortunate to provide numerous extra-curricular options for our students. The world we live in is constantly changing, and education is no different. It is our goal as the Lakeview staff to provide our students with the best education possible in a respectful, caring, and safe school environment. We hope that your child(ren) will experience educational growth in a technology-rich environment and develop a passion for learning that will last them a lifetime. This is only possible through communication and collaboration. The staff, parents, and students need to partner and work together to ensure the best results possible. Please know that staff members at Lakeview are always willing and available to help answer questions or address any concerns that you may have.
We welcome your educational involvement as a member of the Laker family. Your involvement might range from simply showing more of an interest in your child’s experiences at school, volunteering in your child’s classroom, or it could include committing to reading with your child every day. Whatever you do, just remember the positive impact a caring parent, guardian, or grandparent can have on a child. If we all pull together and support each other’s efforts, our children at Lakeview will continue to achieve great things.
Please do not hesitate to call me at (507) 423-5164 ext. 1305 if you would like to visit about your child or the future of the Lakeview School District. Best wishes for a wonderful 2026-27 school year!
